Shimada has been meditating for many years Qigong (Kikou) and Zen and began meditating about 3-4x weekly with Nathalie in an intensive training for several years.

Spirit of the Earth
Artist Nathalie Ishizuka, Acrylic, canvas, 61cm x80cm, 2020
An acrylic painting on wood panel by Nathalie Ishizuka with a meditation for the viewer on the Earth Element, a necessary element for grounding and being completely in the present moment.
The Earth element allows us to enjoy life, and is the cornerstone to health and manifestation of all of our creativity as well as the realization of our deepest aspirations.
This painting captures an experience during a sunrise that lit up the sky and a feeling of beauty of the Earth in all things.
Mother Earth
Artist Nathalie Ishizuka, Acrylic, canvas, 92cm x122cm, 2020
Mother Earth by Nathalie Ishizuka invites you to change your conception of who is your Mother and of the process of life itself.
Was this body really ever ours or is it borrowed by the earth and returned at the moment of our Death? What did you do with the loan you were given?
How can you now ground yourself in the Earth and be an important part of change in this world. Meditation on how we can honor this body, our mother, father, creation and the earth itself.
Intersections: Who are you?
Artist Nathalie Ishizuka, Acrylic, canvas, 92cm x122cm, 2020
Who are You?
Regardless of what you believe the experience of this painting may shift your perspective. From our Theatrical Self to our Inspired Being, the painting captures our living transformation as we shift identities and balance. Full integration and alignment is a life long process and the ultimate art of life. We are in constant vigililence. Constant balance and loving attention.
Artist Nathalie Ishizuka, The Resurrection Inside Us, Acrylic, canvas, 92cm x122cm, 2020.
When we become stable like a mountain, external elements can not touch us. When such a state becomes a constant, we experience a Resurrection, our own. To remove our illusions and ignorance. Get ready for a new birth. Nothing is known.
PAINTINGS ON ENERGY AND THE HEART
ARTIST: NATHALIE ISHIZUKA
The Center of the Heart
Artist Nathalie Ishizuka, Large Acrylic Canvas, 2021
Each of us can experience the Sphere; a Sun that is not ours but anchors us to the Earth and to all in the universe. The center, our father, the central point, the issue of the big bang. Our divine mother, all within the circle; the entire creation.
Heart Cellular Intelligence
Artist Nathalie Ishizuka, Acrylic, Large canvas, 91cm x123cm, 2017
This painting was done in silent meditation.
We explore the opening of the spiritual heart playfully and begin to sense the beauty within by setting the intent to be open to the experience of joy, love or peace, whatever is easiest for us. The experience radiates from within but is never ours.
Unconditional Love
Artist Nathalie Ishizuka, Acrylic, VERY LARGE Canvas, 160cm x161cm, 2019
The theme of the heart is a lifetime meditation This painting was done in silence one sphere at a time without any conscious intent to create a shape or form. Like life itself; each moment unveils itself in the present. Nothing is ours. Just the intent to love.

Documentary Film on Artists and Meditation at Nirmal Yoga Studio
The day after Saiso Shimada, the shodo artist, presented her works at the EU embassy private residence with Nathalie Ishizuka, meditator, and Masaki Nakamura, shakuhatchi player and several artists, they were asked by the documentary film artist Haryun Kim to share with them their process of art and meditation.
Nirmal, who was one of the guests at the EU event and a teacher and friend of Nathalie invited us to his studio for a most beautiful day of meditation, art and film.
Some of the meditations we had together were so strong the film maker got unexpectedly more than she bargained for during the shooting. We had to pause, we took long breaks.
We enjoyed that beautiful day together immensely and we hope Haryun will continue her beautiful film work. Thank you Nirmal.
These artist-yogi sessions where Nirmal was introduced to other young Tokyo artists as well as a Chinese Qigong master Zhou Seika were a part of what made Tokyo so special. "Everyone at that event from the novelist and designer to the film maker or shodo lover, left moved by Shimada's paintings, Masaki's music, Nathalie's presentation of their work together. "That day together something special occurred in all of us," says Ishizuka.
Artists and Meditation in Japan
Nirmal meditating at in Nathalie's office in Tokyo with the shaku-hatchi artist Masaki Nakamura, the shodo artist Saiso Shimada accompanied by Nathalie Ishizuka.
When Nathalie left Tokyo to move to Singapore it was important that the artists she found and worked with closely were able to continue meditation with a strong enlightened master should it be their wish or should they have questions or need support. "Skype meditations across the globe could continue, but it is always good to be locally supported," says Ishizuka, "especially with strong meditations or meditators."
Nirmal provided invaluable guidance to Nathalie and her family with Ayurvedic consultations and Nathalie benefited at the end from a weekly treatment focusing on spiritual work. "His ayurvedic treatments are simply unparellelled and the experiences I had were out of this world," says Ishizuka who at the time knew nothing of Ayurveda. "It is rare to find an enlightened yogi who is also an advanced ayurvedic physician from a family of ayurvedic doctors. "I am always lucky," says Ishizuka. "Always in the best of hands."
"Nirmal also on a visit to Singapore showed Nathalie a meditation one can not find in books," she says with a grin. "I am still working on that one!"

Lotus Petal Meditation
This painting by Nathalie Ishizuka is about the spirt blossoming after March 11, 2011. It is a meditation on knowledge, compassion and liberation.
Jewel of the Lotus
This painting by Nathalie Ishizuka is about the jewel of the lotus which she experienced like a sharp edged part of the spirit that transcends and pierces all things in full transparency. The spirit painted as a sharp sword -- pierces three peaches each representing a crisis: Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Fukushima. The spirit transcends everything and elevates.
Earth and Sun
This painting by Nathalie Ishizuka is about the earth and its intimate link with the Sun (the eye). The source of all light on the planet illuminates the earth and all on it equally. Within each of us, just above the physical heart is also a sun - radiating far beyond this earth.
