Beyond Our Best: Re-inventing Ourselves Silently
Beyond Our Best is about Re-inventing ourselves silently. It is not a movement you can observe from the outside. But it can change the way you experience the world and influence all those around you.
From Crisis to Inner Silence
Could national crisis be the touchstones from which an individual rises up and renews onself body, mind and spirit beyond a previous best? What would give birth to this courageous new individual and national spirit?
“I believe that inner silence will serve as the first sparks. It starts by putting your mind on ‘silent mode,'” says Ishizuka. These growing sparks of inner silence will deepen our understanding of our body, mind and spirit beyond our best. Glimpses of inner silence are ocurrying all over the world as more and more people pause for a well deserved and needed moment of inner quiet (even a minute is welcome in our busy lives), become curious about life, turn off their mobile phones, put their mind on “silent mode,” or simply put, meditate.
Nathalie Leiko Ishizuka is the Director of Beyond Our Best a movement she cofounded with Dr. Paul Briot, that sees crisis as an opportunity to re-invent ourselves silently. Dr. Paul Briot’s book, Le Rayonnant, un art vers l’infini, and his artistic propositions found in that book have created a small movement with high level artists in Japan who meditate after the tusami, earthquake and nuclear incident on a new Japan and world. These artists are capable by their art to create glimpses of inner silence in an audience — even if the viewer does not know how to meditate.
Today Nathalie continues to work with visionary artists and geniuses in a variety of fields and is accompanying a few individuals committed to changing themselves, their organizations and their fields with tested techniques of meditation and one area of competence beyond a previous best. As a meditation and competence coach she tackles issues that matter most to people at their very core showing just how meditation can carry them beyond a previous best. She is even giving a few classes to the general public at visionary yoga studios in Singapore.

MEDITATION AND GOING BEYOND OUR BEST IN YOUR FIELD
“Mediation is the core of all fundamental change and innovation,” says Ishizuka. “Unless we meditate consciously or unconsciously, for the most part we are just repeating the past. It is only through inner silence that we can re-invent ourselves and this world.”
“My dream is to see a world with an additional 10, 100 or 1000 people in each country who meditate at higher levels and experience a competence in one field of expertise where they go far beyond a previous best. This includes artists, CEOs, doctors, scientists, engineers, diplomats, homemakers and world leaders. “Such an individual and collective journey may be just enough to transform ourselves and our world,” says Ishizuka.
