MUSICIAN NAKAMURA JOINS MEDITATIONS WITH SAISO SHIMADA & NATHALIE ISHIZUKA CREATING A NEW SERIES OF MEDITATIVE MUSIC & IMAGES
Masaki Nakamura, the son of Buddhist monk and from a family of monks (his brother has taken over the responsibilities of the temple), was destined to become a monk. However, his passion for shakuhatchi turned him to sound as a means to inspire and elevate. Masaki, who had never formerly meditated (except mantras) intrigued by the changes in Saiso Shimada’s paintings after meditation came to meditate with the Shodo Artist Saiso Shimada and Nathalie Ishizuka to create new music. The three created new music together. Nathalie introduced Masaki to the yogi Nirmal Raj Gyawali for him to continue his meditations after she left Japan. This video takes place in Nirmal’s yoga studio in Tokyo and includes the shodo artist Saiso Shimada painting to original music.
