Art, Meditation & Healing

We are creating a movement in meditative art.  Meditate, paint and enjoy healing art with us.

Sharing what Visionaries who Meditate can do to Transform Art

Join us — artists, philosophers, meditators, yogis, scientists and people from a variety of fields to incite the individual and collective imagination.  Together we can go beyond our best and anchor powerful experiences elevating and inspiring with inner silence, beauty and realization.  Showcasing on our sister site are visionaries in art and meditation who can create a moment of inner silence in the viewer.   In the future we will also interview talented artists and leaders in their fields who meditate and create a community of geniuses who can transform their disciplines and enjoy each other’s company.

Dr. Paul Briot, a philosopher and poet, created artistic propositions on a new visionary art in his 2014, 2017 and 2018 book — Le Rayonnant, un art vers l’infini (Editions Caracteres)  that has been interpreted by talented artists who meditate.

His 2018 book includes meditative music and paintings accessible through the mobile.  Music has been created for 6 passages and 6 paintings by two visionary artists and meditators.

Art can do what words cannot.  At its height, art elevates us to what is most noble or beautiful within.  Let our life be art.

Nathalie Leiko Ishizuka is the Director of Beyond Our Best a movement she cofounded with Dr. Paul Briot, that sees crisis as an opportunity to re-invent ourselves silently.   Dr. Paul Briot’s book, Le Rayonnant, and his artistic propositions found in that book and on this site have created a small movement with high level artists in Japan who meditate after the tusami, earthquake and nuclear incident.

Today Nathalie is accompanying a few individuals committed to changing themselves, their organizations and their fields with tested techniques of meditation and one area of competence beyond a previous best.  As a meditation and competence coach she tackles issues that matter most to people at their very core.  Nathalie is also an artist and working with Saiso Shimada to create new programs that combine meditation and art.

In addition to her formidable paintings, Shimada has created workshops for top Nike designers in shodo and calligraphy for the Emperial Household.  She helps individuals and organizations experience flow, movement and focus giving presentations at embassies, galleries and organizations.  Shimada enjoys communicating the core of Japanese culture in simple strong brush strokes.  Shimada, who was discovered by Nathalie in Japan, has created 13 paintings interpreting Dr. Paul Briot’s new meditative art, 6 of which have original soundtracks created by the talented shaku-hatchi musician Nakamura Masaki.

The 5 Elements of an Artist

Artist Nathalie Leiko Ishizuka EXHIBIT on 5 Elements of an Artist:  Ether  Air  Fire  Water  Earth

This is a current gallery exhibit in Singapore that illustrates 5 elements within the artist: ether, air, fire, water and earth.  Like the artist herself, all the paintings have a bit of each element, but the element that dominates the painting is its principal element.

Nathalie in her new work “The 5 Elements of an Artist” combines meditation and art not in the same manner as traditional shodo nor her work with Dr. Paul Briot.  Instead, she insists that her paintings reflect not an empty mind but mistakes, and that mistakes are incorporated into each painting — much like life itself.  Nathalie seeks to work and create art that can help release individuals of any fear.  She seeks to explore new paths in meditation and art.

The artist wishes to develop further in shodo and breath, in turner’s inspired techniques in watercolor, and in using geometry and shapes with mantra to create art that creates a moment of silence, heals, and transforms.  Ishizuka is open to learning new techniques including etching and is eager to learn from other artists to create a transparent art that elevates.
